Motorola Razr 2022 could be launching outside Chinese markets soon, as suggested by new leaked promo materials.
Last month, Motorola held a grand event in China announcing two flagship X series phones as well as the newest Razr foldable. The X series phones recently launched in India and global markets as the Edge 30 Ultra and Edge 30 Fusion. Now, the same is expected from the Motorola Razr 2022. Based on some new leaked images, it seems Motorola is readying the Razr 3, or Razr 2022 for a global launch before the year ends. Motorola is yet to announce officially anything on this front.
Based on the latest leak from popular tipster Evan Blass, some new promotional images of the Razr 2022 has come out. Unlike the model in China, these images show English texts all over the display, and that means the Razr could be coming back to the global markets. Given its specifications, it could come as a competition to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, a foldable flip phone which we reviewed recently.
The Razr 2022 could be a serious contender for the nicest flip phone and it retains its biggest weapon to take on the Samsung Flip 4 – its larger Cover Display. It still has an OLED display covering the top half of the phone, accompanied by two cameras this time. This Cover Display can do almost everything you can do on the main screen.
On the inside, Motorola has changed the design vastly. The Razr gets an edge-to-edge display with narrow bezels and a single punchhole cutout for the selfie camera. The phone now gets a 144Hz OLED display. It uses the new and much more powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 instead of a Snapdragon 700 series chip.
The Razr 2022 also gets a 50MP main camera with OIS and a 13MP ultrawide camera as the secondary one. The phone runs on Motorola’s stock Android-like interface with the MYUX theming engine.
What remains to be seen is whether Motorola brings the Razr 2022 to India, and if so, when would it arrive? We have already seen the 200MP camera equipped Edge 30 Ultra in India and we expect the Razr to arrive here ahead of the festive season. Motorola could also go for an aggressive price to take on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, which costs Rs. 90,000 for the base model.
